Burned Car 3D Scan
Here you can see some images of a 3D Scan I have made for a personal project in my process of perfect my scans. This Car was burned during a New Years eve in my Home Town Hamburg. I took around 1000 Images with my Canon 5D II which where used to process this 3D Model. Post work like Retopology and Cleanup was done mainly in Zbrush and CINEMA 4D. I also used 3D Coat for Voxelsculpting some bits.

Here you see all 8 million polygons with a Clay Material inside a 3D Sculpting Program.
To use 3D Models efficiently it is a good Idea to have different versions with different Level of Detail (LOD). That way the model with less resolution can be used in the background. This is especially important for Game-Assets and Virtual Reality applications.
This is how the 3D Scan looks like with image based lighting.
